Canterbury 'Retro' Kitchen
We aimed at creating a Beautifully soft and welcoming Retro Kitchen in the Country side.'
We incorporated architectural design elements of the 1920s, using texture and soft colours, we have achieved a modern kitchen with retro aesthetics.
With a built in pantry, lit with natural light & mesh overhead, and incoporating beams uncovered from the removal of the previous ceiling.
The room also incoporates unpatterned floor tiling, rough rendered walls and subway wall tiles.
Soft colours in Appilances helps create the Retro Kitchen feel. Fridges can dominate the room, here the SMEG Fab 28 in Cream melts in to the wall colour, of Spainish White.
Narrow bench top in natural Kauri with 'Heart' cupboard. Dishwasher partly fitted into panrty wall.
New elements together with the old help to create a Retro Kitchen. The extremely large Fench Antique Orb spheres light up the kitchen & set off the warm atmosphere felt when you walk in to the kitchen.
A walk-in Pantry with built-in Telephone booth. Kauri Wooden Shelves. Subway tiled surrounding wall, with fitted-in telephone booth & on the kitchen side a dishwasher partially fitted into the panrty wall. This gave a narrow kitchen bench to fit the ceramic sink.
Subway tiles surround the pantry, with meshed in top. This helps the room breathe and gives a filted light. Or in reverse the pantry glows when lit from inside.
